Open Water Checkout Dives

The open water checkout dives are available as part of diver certification courses offered through partner dive shops in San Marcos, Austin, San Antonio, and other areas such as Corpus Christi, Dallas-Ft. Worth, and Houston. The Meadows Center, as the steward of Spring Lake, is pleased to offer access to the lake, but those interested in this unique opportunity should contact their local dive shops to take part.

Only those instructors who are registered with The Meadows Center are allowed to bring students to Spring Lake for open water checkout dives, so be sure to ask for a registered instructor when calling your local dive shop.

Additionally, Spring Lake is protected as critical habitat for a number of species as well as a State Antiquities Landmark, so diver capacity is limited and checkout dives are confined to the Dive Training Area.
